About 10 years ago, I heard the saying, "Live your life by design, not default." It resonated with me for so many reasons.

For starters, all I've ever wanted to do is design, create, make and do. I love creating storylines with imagery and words and emotions. It's how I make sense of everything around me, and when I discovered that this is something I could do for others, I knew I had found my purpose.

Of course, knowing why you exist and acting on it are two different things. I had to break out of comfort zones and learn to actually design my life- not just accept where I landed. And with all of the possibilities of what could make me happy, the hardest part was knowing which direction to go in. I had to finding my arrow. I had to define what I stand for, what is important to me, my point of view, etc.
